As part of HCA Healthcare’s ongoing commitment to workforce development, the Clinical Certifications Support Program will offer test fee reimbursement, bonuses and pre-paid vouchers to employees for achieving specific nationally-recognized certifications beyond those required for their current position.

Pre-Paid Voucher Test Fee Reimbursement Certification Completion Bonus

Eligibility: Active full-time

or part-time status

Eligibility: Active full-time or part-time status with at least 90 days

of service at the time of application and reimbursement

A pre-paid voucher process is in place for nursing certifications from the following organizations:

  • American Association of Critical Care Nurses Certification Corporation (AACN)
  • American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
  • Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN)
  • Competency and Credentialing Institute (CCI)
  • Orthopedic Nursing Certification Board (ONCB)

Certifications not included as part of the pre-paid voucher process may be eligible for reimbursement instead.

Reimbursement covers only the test fees necessary to sit for the covered certification.

Costs related to course materials, study guides, test preparation courses or other preparatory materials or classes are not eligible for reimbursement. Additionally, fees associated with changing test dates, extending the testing window, fees for failing to take a test, etc., are not reimbursable.

If you successfully achieve a covered certification or re-certification under the Clinical Certification Support Program, you may be eligible to receive one bonus of $500 (full-time) or $250 (part-time) per calendar year. However, this bonus may not be available if you are already eligible for incentives or certification bonuses offered by your local facility. Refer to the policy for more details.

Additional Policy Details:

  • Employees can receive one pre-paid voucher or test reimbursement and one bonus per calendar year.
  • To be covered, the certification must not be a requirement for the employee’s current position
  • Employees with a final written warning or disciplinary suspension issued in the 12 months prior to application are not eligible to receive a test fee reimbursement or bonus.

Employees can view a complete list of covered certifications and apply for reimbursement and a bonus by logging onto HCAhrAnswers.com and entering key term “clinical certification.”
